Geeks a Gogo is here again at New York Comic Con 2018, and we're enjoying everything the convention has to offer this year, as well as taking in what the city has to offer for geeks like us. This is always an amazing event, and we love to walk the floor and take in the experience--and as usual, this year, some things stand out more than others. Here are some of our favorites from this year's show!
The amazing displays are soon visible when entering the convention--where Starz had an awesome display, rivaling their amazing Ash vs Evil Dead display from last year. This year was a diner from their show American Gods, where we caught a glimpse of some of the stars of the show--and even saw writer Neil Gaiman! Nearby, we saw the Rickmobile, which was selling all kinds of Rick and Morty merch, and even more impressive was the inflatable plumbus waving around.
Inside the convention, we saw the amazing vendor booths that we've come to expect to see at NYCC, where sellers really bring their top game. This year a few things really stuck out, among them were the products on display, which included some amazing Batman statues and some rather strange, but nonetheless amazing Venom/Carnage-inspired shoes from Marvel that looked awesome in their containment jars. Then there were the booths that had some amazing displays from prop replicas from the movies, to the walk-throughs. Parmount went all-out on their new show "Heathers", bringing in a school bus with a display inside featuring a preview of the show.
And most importantly, there's the comics. This year, we saw some amazing artists, including Neal Adams and Greg Hildebrandt, and saw some of the vendors that you'd expect, such as New York's own Midtown Comics--and even a booth that sold only comics with hard-to-find variant covers. This is a great place to meet your favorite artists and discover independent artists and publishers, such as Steven Devendini or Action Lab Publishing.
And what caught our eye again this year was DC Comics, with their amazing display in the front of the Javitts Center--this year featuring Aquaman, and an amazing new Batman toy line, that we were excited to see in person.
